The Annual Minneapolis Emergency PrepareFair is hosted by Downtown Emergency Advisory Committee (DEAC) of the Minneapolis Downtown Improvement District (DID). The purpose of PrepareFair is to highlight the Community’s effort towards emergency preparedness, and also aligning efforts with the National Preparedness Month in September. DEAC and Minneapolis DID invite all employees, students, business owners visitors and residents of Minneapolis and Hennepin County to participate in and learn from the various exhibitors and experts, who are on hand to discuss personal and business preparedness

Explore four blocks of Emergency response vehicles & equipment along Nicollet Mall including: Urban Search & Rescue Vehicles; Bomb Squad; Mass Casualty Van; Mobile Hazardous Material Laboratory; Rescue Air Boat; Police K9; Weather Chasers; SWAT & more.
Organizations involved in emergency management and disaster response will be available inside the IDS Crystal Court providing information on personal and business emergency resources. A vendor fair will be held in City Center.
The Minneapolis SWAT team, Mounted Patrol, Minneapolis Bomb Squad, Police Canine Units, Krav Maga and others will offer live demonstrations in the Nicollet Mall roadway throughout the day. The demos will also be streamed LIVE on MinneapolisDID.com!
The 2012 PrepareFair featured emergency preparedness exhibitors inside the IDS Crystal Court; and emergency response vehicles, boats and equipment of all kinds on Nicollet Mall. New in 2012 were live demonstrations from special teams such as the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) Bomb Squad, SWAT and K9 units, Krav Maga as well as the volunteers from the Bloomington CERT program. Twenty-nine exhibitors were inside the Crystal Court and four blocks of response vehicles from the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD), Minneapolis Fire Department (MFD) and the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) among others lined Nicollet Mall.
